Our Adventure Program

Students often share that our Adventure Program is their favorite part of a Capital City education. This program is intentionally designed to build community and self-esteem.

Trips push students beyond their comfort zones and encourage them to take risks. We routinely witness our students working together and supporting one another to overcome challenges. Activities include hiking, swimming, ice-skating, rock-climbing, and camping trips. A highlight of the program is the 9th-grade camping trip, which helps students build resilience, independence, and teamwork. All students participate in our adventure program each year.

National Geographic

As a model for best practices in teaching and learning, National Geographic joined our students and staff on a variety of adventure trips during the 2016-2017 school year. See how a Capital City education, including our adventure program, empowers our students to be explorers and learn collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
